1. Create a blog of value

Your blog has value when it is effectively promoted and marketed, but first you need to create a blog that is worth marketing.

You must post regularly on your blog before you can easily market it. Your blog needs to be an active one that will instruct, inform or entertain its visitors. The more links you can get back to your blog from other quality sites, showing similar content, the higher the page rank of your blog.

You will not get valuable backlinks simply by posting your own link, or by asking bloggers for a link exchange. You will gain something from linking your blog back from all your profile pages at community sites. You will benefit even more when any of your followers link one of your blog posts from a web page or a related blog post.

One of the most effective methods of gaining backlinks is to use article marketing. Simply write some short informative pieces on topics that have some connection to what your blog is about. Submit these to free article sites and ezine directories, then you get a link back to your blog wherever your articles are published online.

5. Get free traffic to your blog.

You may want to get traffic to your blog to boost your advertising revenue, to get more referrals, or to increase your earnings from affiliate programs.

There is no need to pay for a traffic building service, and you do not have to submit your blog personally to every search engine. All that is necessary is to optimize each blog post you publish, so it will be found by the search engines and can show up in relevant results. Try to include a variety of keywords that could be used as search terms by people seeking what your blog can provide.
