A planned out frequent trip with the husband as the pilot of the small twin engine plane happened. He had tried to master the ability to manage all the steps of flying. Passengers were the family members of the spouse and the three offspring. The wife also studied ground control to be adept at navigational skills.
THEN a MAJOR flight and episode. The quote said " The grace of the Lord rode along with the Pilot and his wife and three children, as their twin-engine plane dropped out of a fog filled sky and crashed into a tree."
The trip began in New York State and traveled down to the Southern end of the country into Alabama. It was a winter time of year so clouds and fog created instrumental flying. All plans were set up to do this flight. The fuel content was supposed to be the one of many steps for prepping for the journey.
Despite careful preparation, gas ran out of the vehicle. The dad and son were in the front seat. The back area held the mom, holding the youngest child, and the other child was to the side. They had rested much, the wee baby girl did request the rest room and the mother offered a tank container she brought.
Then suddenly came the sound of the one motor quitting, The pilot stated. "We can fly the plane with one engine." "Oh , oh" said the son. The rear passengers were petrified too. The father pilot communicated with a nearby small airport to land, but then the other motor went.
Total frantic feelings were in all, somehow it came to the Mom's head to sing, "I will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breast of dawn, make you to shine like the sun. and hold you in the palm of my hand". This was a spiritual melody memorized by the Maternal lady.
Suddenly the airplane started down, down. "Put your heads down and hold yourself" said the pilot.
Miraculously, the plane quit motion in a tree branch, (like the palm of a hand) . NOT only did it hang safely in the tree, but someone working, but a person with a huge ladder working in the woods, came forward to rescue the members of the flight. Other adults came too, and carried out the two small girls after the pilot left. The son got out too, but turned to his mom and said, "Get out very cautiously to climb down, Ma."
No person of the crowd was injured. The plane lost it's windshield, and instruments. It never fell back down from the tree. Especially the mom gave a vast thanks to the Lord for this amazing event!
