Over the years scrapbooking has become more and more popular. So popular in fact, that there are entire stores dedicated to this one hobby and people have even started to form scrapbooking clubs. So why is this hobby so popular? Scrapbooking is a great way to be creative and display memories in an artful way at the same time. It can also be cheap, easy and fun. It really is no wonder that scrapbooking is so popular.

For many people scrapbooking is fun,easy and relaxing. Once you have all of the supplies you need, all you have to do is glue some of your favorite photos onto a piece of scrapbook paper, decorate the page to suit your taste then slide it in a scrapbook and repeat. It's really that simple and can also be very satisfying. When you've finished an entire scrapbook, you feel a sense of accomplishment and you get to show it off to your friends.

It is amazing how much of that built up clutter you may have around the house can be organized into a scrapbook. Papers and memorabilia that you have been saving because you can't bear to throw them away are perfect candidates for scrapbooks. You can even do a favorite restaurant menus scrapbook or a newspaper clippings scrapbook. A well put together scrapbook is much neater than piles of paper and random photos.

Another reason that scrapbooking is so popular is that scrapbooks make great gifts. It is considered very thoughtful to compile someone's memories together for them in a tasteful and fun way and present it as a gift. They make good gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers or really anything. People really can appreciate the effort and thought that goes into making a scrapbook.

Creating a scrapbook is so much more personal than just cramming random pictures in a photo album. Making a scrapbook takes time and so much more can be added to it other than photos. A scrapbook can showcase a specific event in your life with so much more detail than an album. You can add personal touches like quotes, ticket stubs, matchbooks, labels, or postcards and letters. All this and the fact that they are so fun to share with others certainly lends to the popularity of scrapbooking.

Any craft that preserves memories and can be shared so often is bound to find popularity among memory collectors. Scrapbooking has found its place among all the other popular crafts of our time because it belongs there. Scrapbooking's popularity is reflective of the fun and long-lasting enjoyment that it can bring.
