Carl's Jr.'s $6 burger, looks great on television. KFC's new grilled chicken looks so good it makes you want to go out and get some. Why? Because, one it's advertisement and two, a professional made it look that way. Come on, think about it. How many fast food restaurants have professional cooks and chefs on their payroll? None is the answer.
I have yet, in almost 45 years found one fast food place that their food looks anything like it does in an advertisement, television or in a print ad. In every advertisement, it looks fresh, well put together and appetizing. You want to go out and buy one of whatever it is that caught your fancy. When you get your order, it never looks like it does in the pictures. There is no sense in complaining, basically, you will get laughed at.
Most fast food places these days are ran and operated by teenagers or the elderly trying to supplement their income. None of them are professionals in any way. They get a brief introduction in, grilling, frying, food prep and little else. Fast food restaurants are all about make it quick and get it to the customer quicker. The staff is usually underpaid and under appreciated. Minorities also seem to find themselves working in a fast food place because they can get a job quick that way. Once again, none of them are professionals and don't know a thing about presentation.
Is there anyway to train the employees that work for these fast food wonders to make their food look like the advertising? Maybe, but doubtful. It is best that the American public accept the fact that there just isn't any professionals working at their fast food place. You want a professional presentation, be prepared to pay upwards of $100 in a fancy restaurant. That is where the professionals are. Those are the ones that will make their food look like the advertisements. It is the difference in training and the prices you are willing to pay.
If you are willing to pay more for presentation, then you will most likely get what you pay for. Fast food is not known for it's presentation. It is known for it's make it quick, slap it on a tray or in a bag and go on to the next order. Hence the name, FAST FOOD. Since the first fast food restaurant opened, the main objective is get it out to the customer cooked and fast. Nothing has changed in all these years. Well, the only things that really has changed is that now, you get more choices and the prices are a lot higher. You get what you pay for. It's up to you on what you are willing to accept. If you want that beautifully presented hamburger, then go to a high priced restaurant and you will most likely get it, if they serve them. If you want it fast, then fast food is where you will get that. It's up to you.
