The Virginia Beach Farmer's market is a sight to behold. Colorful and exciting this year round outdoor market offers something for everyone. Open from 10am until 5pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm through 4pm on Sundays, this busy shopping area located at 3640 Dam Neck Rd. offers more than just food products for the shopper.

You can visit the flower, gift, and bakery shop and pick up a bouquet for that special someone in your life, or just find the perfect center piece to set off your luncheon table. Anyone who loves fresh flowers will find a visit here a sensory delight as they view the lovely and colorful flowers and their wonderful smells. The baked goods carried at this place add to the tantalizing aroma to the delightful scents of the flowers.

There is also a wonderful home and garden center as well, offering tools and plants to make your home garden every thing you dream. Need a spade, or watering can? This is the place to find it. While browsing the market for your garden supplies, why not stop by natures gifts. You just might be surprised by the wonderful things they have to offer.

The market also has a specialty gift shop where you can find just the right something for that hard to please friend or relative. There are also craft booths you can visit or perhaps, you would like to rent one yourself to sell your own homemade crafts. There are usually spaces available and the Market is always encourage new craft people to come and join them. You can rent a booth by the day or by the week, so why not show your own wares and be part of this wonderful exciting place?

Of course there is food too! There is a large and colorful selection of in season fruit and vegetables to choose from, as well as an organic grocers, a butcher shop and even a dairy store. Whatever your appetite wants you can probably find it at one of the many food shops in the farmer's market.

The Market even sports a restaurant for those who find the sights and smells make them hungry as well as picnic tables scattered around the market so you can relax and sample some of the produce you just purchased. Restrooms and drinking fountains are also available for your convenience.

There is even something for the music lover here. Every Friday night from May until October, the Farmer's Market offers country and bluegrass music for your listening pleasure. This musical concert runs from 7pm to 10pm and you are invited to bring along lawn chairs and listen to some of the best free music around.

In the spring and fall, the Market offers agriculture learning programs for children and school groups grades 2 and up, so teachers why not plan a field trip to this wonderful place. Children will love learning about growing things in this wonderful inviting environment. The charge for these educational programs is a meager three dollars a student and well worth the price.

No matter what your taste or interest the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market has something for everyone, so why not make this wonderful place a weekly shopping tradition, as well as a must see for all visitors to this beautiful area.
