Good hair care starts with the good care for scalp. Below are five tips that I believe are appropriate for a good looking and great feeling hair.
1) Correct temperature for washing your hair is very important. Some say hot water is good and many say that cold water is good. Too hot water would activate the sebum glands and make the scalp more oily. Cold water constricts or rather closes the pores considerably, making it difficult for washing away the dirt's that was accumulated in them while you were out or since last wash. Hence, it is necessary that you correct the temperature of water that you was your hair with. If you are a regular visitor or even if you had only been once to the parlor, you would have noticed that the service provider would use slightly warm water to wash your hair. Hence, you should use warm water to wash your hair for best results.
2) Hair care products that are suitable for your hair. This would consist of at least a shampoo and a conditioner. Enhanced hair care would include day hair cream or night hair cream. Hair is your crowning glory just like your face. You spend on many products that would give the best complexion in terms of face care and best cosmetics to boost and enhance your facial features. Such way, you need to take care of your hair too. A good shampoo which is suitable for your hair is a necessity. This is especially so because of the hot and humid weather (also read as cold and dry) which affects our hair follicles and scalp dramatically. Hair needs to be conditioned as well because, shampoo tend to open up the follicles of the hair. The conditioner would help to close and smooth them which makes your hair more manageable. Otherwise, high chances are that you hair will get entangled very easily. Day cream and night cream are additional care providers and they would serve the same purpose as those that you use for your face (read extra protection).
3) Combing you hair in the correct manner. Some of my friends are very harsh with their hair. Reason being time limits and that their hair is re bonded and do not need so much care as it did before. I can only smile at the contradiction. You need to take extra care of the hair which you experiment with. So much chemicals and treatments go into the scalp that one thing you can do to overcome hair loss is by using proper combing technique. Ensure that you choose a hair brush which has rounded tip. This is to protect the scalp. Sharp tip tend to scar the scalp and hence, damaging the scalp. Combing helps to circulate the flow of blood on the scalp as combing is actually massaging. This could slow down or even prevent hair loss.
4) Tying hair is one aspect where improvements can be made. Never tie the hair too tight as it makes it difficult for the hair follicles to breath. treat your hair as a living thing and then you would see what I mean when I say you are suffocating the hair follicles.
5) Last but not least, exercise. Believe it or not, exercise is the best form of medicine for anything. Equally so for hair follicles and scalp. Exercise tends to wake up our body and relieve stress. You would already know that stress is one of the agents of hair loss aggravation. Therefore, exercise for good health and great hair.
In conclusion, treat your hair with respect and take care of it while you can or risk losing it before you know it.
