She reflects in a picture book
Of photographs she once took
Of the children she left behind
Always promising to return to them in time
But time flew, the children grew
And now when they look at one another
What do they see?
Not a child who sees his mother.
But a stranger time has made.
The chances of hope that time has taken away
Of what they lost and what they could of had
To think of one another is too sad
Of once was and never can be
Of forgotten hope and lost dreams
If she had only knew
If she could of only seen
She would have given up everything
So for today, she will reflect in this book
Of what life gave and time took

so many times before; but never won.
Slander me until your tongue sets
