Fibromyalgia can be successfully treated with natural remedies. Many people with fibromyalgia know all too well the attitudes that can be prevalent in the medical communities which state that fibromyalgia is incurable, and should either be ignored so as not to give a patient false hope, or be treated with anti-depressants, strong pain killers and physical therapy. However, none of these treatments will help to heal the cause of fibromyalgia and can make the symptoms considerably worse over time.
In order to determine which natural remedies for fibromyalgia might be effective, it's important to understand the various causes behind this disorder. Though fibromyalgia is a genetic tendency, this does not mean that you are destined to either have fibromyalgia or pass it on to your children. The causes that trigger fibromyalgia are many fold, such as long-term stress and anxiety, overwork, exhaustion, environmental toxins, adrenal burnout from lack of sleep and/or overconsumption of caffeine and other stimulants, or overgrowths of yeast. The body goes into overdrive trying to combat these forces and the adrenal and immune systems become overtaxed.
Since fibromyalgia is an immune disorder, meaning that the body is attacking itself, we first look to the immune system. Much of the functionality of the immune system resides in the digestive tract and so healing and balancing the digestive tract is the first order of business, along with trigger-point release and pain control.
In the case of fibromyalgia, what is often found are perforations in the intestines. This is caused by weakening of the intestinal walls due to the factors mentioned above. When we eat, the food is broken down into the tiny components the body needs for healthy cellular function and nourishment of muscles and tissues. These tiny particles are absorbed through the intestinal walls and into the blood stream to be used by the body, but when the integrity of the intestinal walls is faltering, particles too large move through the walls. The body sees these particles and does not recognize them as food and begins building antibodies against them. This is why so many people with fibromyalgia suffer a variety of food sensitivities and allergies. Many of the symptoms of fibromyalgia can be attributed to allergic reactions to foods and environmental allergens.
The first natural remedies for fibromyalgia then, consist of using an elimination diet to remove the foods from the diet that
