Poetry: Thoughts

"The Art of Thoughtlessness"

"I think, therefore I am," some say,

But let's add a little twist-

If I can shut my mind off,

Does that mean I don't exist?

No kids, no bills, no work today

Just a sweet, ethereal ride

I want responsibility?

The truth is that I lied

So keep your books and PBS

And give me food and drink

And my own deserted island

Where I no longer have to think

Put a lid on your intelligence

If that's the best you've got

I'm gone-it's time to lose myself

In an utter lack of thought
