Poetry: Thief of time

You stole my heart, you took my name
I went along, I didn't know, it was a game
We had children, we were blessed
I found happiness, I was obsessed

Then one day, this life turned sour
many years passed, under your power
One sided love, no give or take
you had it too, and ate your cake

The children grew, they turned their heads
they took your path, you made their beds
I stood my ground, without a voice
you shot me down, with every choice

You let me go, my years were done
or so you thought, that you had won
How long does it take, to pay back
before the truth reveals, these years of lack
