When was the time we took a breath and savour the free air?
Living with asthma I knew how to catch my breath in despair,
Waking up have we thanked heavens that we're alive?
'Got lot of nightmares choking me in bed that I barely got to be revived,
Every day we react at the issues with selective priority,
Walking past the garden, vibrant smells of flowers we missed in a hurry,
Arriving at the office we yield being such a perfect bore,
Shrugged shoulders with officemates whose greeting we ignore,
Facing the desktop's monitor we're caught in opening files to retrieve,
People's names and reports about remittances the company receive,
It's funny where people think they could pay their life's security,
Where upon their demise they could leave cash for the family,
A requiem and a memorial to the deceased will be officiated,
Family and friends gathering before the remains to be cremated,
Tears and sorrow being the atmosphere for those who were left behind,
Memories of joy and camaraderie with the departed will be recalled in mind,
No more could we forget it in the succeeding days returning to our life,
Until the moment destiny caught up with us that we too must leave our wife,
Time is a mystery that every one of us may not comprehend,
For us that's how everything we hold so precious in life will have to end.

There's a time in one's life
We feel lost and unsure
The path may seem dark
