Any culinary chef can tell you that any food that is not properly seasoned would not have any flavor. But, what do we do when the prepackaged foods we buy at the grocery store has very little flavor. Well here is a tip that you can do when the food taste bland. I can guarantee you will change your mind after you have tried this method. I know this method work since I been doing this at home for many years.
I want you to know that you can add great tasting flavor to no tasting foods like soups, frozen dinners, stirfrys, and even desserts. I believe my method should be in a class by itself in the culinary arts. Since the variations are unlimited the arts I am ascribing is called, " Purees or Pureeing". So what is puree, basically puree is an emulsion of vegetables, fruits, beans, herbs or nuts which are finely chopped in a food processor to create a paste. Purees really can make a difference to that unlikable flavor most packed foods have.
Many purees are found in different cultures, such as humus in Egypt, pesto of Italy and sofrito from Spain. Most of these contain vegetable and herbs, but they can also be made with fruits and nuts and added to desserts. Why not give Purees a try with a cup of noodle or your favorite ice cream. For soups, I like to combine a puree of herbs, garlic, onions and green peppers, I then add a spoonful of the mixture while my hot water is fermenting my noodles and it tastes fabulous.
The possibilities with purees are endless, just add olive oil, mayonnaise or sour cream to an onion puree and you have a great tasting onion dip or salad dressing.
Perhaps, you take my advise the next time you prepare prepackaged food and use a puree when cooking since the results will be satisfying.
