How is it that ones soul can cry out for a place they have never been to/

For a place they've only seen in movies and pictures/

A place that they seem to know will make them whole/

Why does it bring tears to my eyes/

Why does it cripple me to know I'll never have it/

If I could have just one wish in this world/

It would be to live in the one place I feel is my home/

Even though I've never been there, I can smell the salt from the ocean/

I can feel the way the wind would brush against my skin/

The smell of the land is fresh in my mind/

How is it possible for me to know these things/

Is it to torment me? Have I not lead a decent life/

There music plays in tune with my soul, it moves me/

I can feel this place crying out for me to come home/

To return to the place I truly belong/

The only place I will ever be happy/

Is the one place I will probably never have/

If only I could go/

I need it like I've never needed anything before/

Maybe one day god will see fit to send me home/

To the lands of my ancestors/
