Gladys Wilson has always been on time for church service. Unfortunately, on last Saturday night a horrible thing had happen, her nephew Horace Walker was murdered. According to the two Homicide Detectives, he was slain execution style. When the Detective arrived at Horace's house, it was a horrifying site. Blood was all over the walls, floors, and the furniture. He was naked laying in a fetal position, with his hand tied behind his back. Gladys told her husband Nick, and her daughter Cindy about Horace's death. The lead Detective on the case asked them if they knew of anyone who wanted Horace dead.
Cindy and Horace were more like brothers and sisters whether than cousins. Cindy loved him very much, despite of his flamboyant lifestyle. She knew he had several enemies; anyone of them could have killed her cousin. Cindy told the Detectives about an incident that took place last week at her cousin's house. Three men came over to Horace's house, one of the men named Big Billy Brown threaten Horace with a gun. It frightens Cindy and she knew according to the man's demeanor, he was serious. She demanded Horace to tell her what was going on, and why did the man threaten him. He told her he owes Big Billy forty thousand dollars and he is giving him 3 days to come up with the money. Cindy did not know whether Horace came up with the money, but he did tell her he was not concern. She tried to get more information out of him; however, he changed the subject so she left it alone.
The Detectives had several leads to follow in Horace's murder case. Detective Gordon Grafton and Detective Van Ryan were the best homicide detectives the Mayfield Police Department had on their force. They have solved several high profile cases, also between the both of them they have thirty years of experiences in solving murder cases. The city of Mayfield population of 26,000 people is a small city with somewhat of a high crime rate. It once was a quiet city, until the voters voted to have casinos gambling. There are at least 30 casinos in the city; they are all on a strip and the police constantly trying to keep the peace. Due to the city's high crime rate, the City Council have increased it funds to the Police Department. This has enabled the Police Department to have the top of the line forensic labs for DNA testing, fingerprints machines, and they are able to hire more Polices to handle the large crime rate.
Horace lived alone in a large two-story house; he had inherited it from his grandfather.
