The Everlasting Flame
The flame is everlasting,
The mere essence
That everybody has,
Some hold dear to it,
Some fling it away,
Some try to control it,
Though they are always unsuccessful,
No tyrant can truly grasp
That which this flame is,
In some it is steadfast,
In some it wavers,
In some it cowers,
From the flame that is stronger,
But if ever it can truly leave,
If ever it can be extinguished,
Only death can tell,
Because this flame is everlasting,
This mere essence,
That everybody has,
It is always there,
No matter how hard or far we fall,
It will always be there.
