Motorcyclists are outnumbered 10 to 1 on the road and more vulnerable to an accident. If you are in an accident in a car or truck the vehicle takes the majority of the damage where a motorcycle doesn't have anything to protect you and leaves the rider with the huge risk of serious damage or the possible fatality. The majority of road accidents are from impatience, road rage or arrogance, avoiding these will stop you being the person that causes stupid accidents.

I saw a motorcycle accident once, the motorcyclist was weaving in and out of traffic on the motorway, he pulled in front of a large truck and a car did the same on the other side. This wasn't caused by any huge error however the motorcyclist was driving and weaving into traffic fare too fast. Motorcycles are fare more mobile than cars so weaving in and out of traffic makes the motorcyclist more venerable to an accident. A motorcyclist has less time to react to an accident than a car or truck driver, simply by double checking when manoeuvring in whatever motor you ride/ drive by double checking you split the chances of an accident in half.

Motorcyclists hold a left or right position in a lane or the line of the road, it is very tempting to take over the motorcyclist however the safest option is to just hold back or if you see one behind you desperate to get ahead let them do so. We all get tempted to take risks on the road to get ahead in traffic or if we are late, it is better to be late than have someone's death on your continence. Driving our vehicle to legal standards is really important and helps save lives every day, the rules are there for our safety and this can help keep safety between all road users.

Driving a motorcycle is the fastest way to get through traffic and has the highest risk of an accident because of the narrow shape of the bike, stability and speed, these make reaction times even lower in the event of an accident. Spotting a motorcycle through a high stream of traffic can be difficult, it is always best to just take an extra look or if you hesitate then don't take the chance of pulling out or over taking. Many motorcyclists leave their headlights on at all times on the road today to help all other road users see their presence. The Majority of motorbikes are faster than cars on the road which means driving and manoeuvring faster on the road decreases reaction times and increases the likelihood of the other road users not seeing you, to keep things safe stick to the speed limit and never take chances for an adrenaline rush on any roads.
