Within the deafening silence
Defenseless as light's hope slips away
Beyond a dim horizon; good succumbs to evil
Threatening darkness creeping in
A heart still whole could battle such
Not one though; such that I own
A simple shell to house all that is tattered
Utterly defeated
Upon the floor; grasping the earth
Gasping for breath
Praying for freedom
This tyranny of sorrow; ruling unchallenged
Only the wounded soul can reveal
The fate which lies in store
For the pieces of the shattered heart

The heart makes when it breaks?
One softly spoken goodbye
Is all that it takes
Can you feel the pain
That
