Scrapbooking is something that has become very trendy in the last few years. They can be made up dedicated to vacations, births, weddings, graduations, or even a special relationship that two people share. It is something that tends to have deep emotional ties, as you delve into past events and revisit the times in your life that are delightful or memorable. Making a scrapbook can assist you in preserving pictures, and moments that have flitted through your life, and presenting them in a pleasurable, colorfully interesting way. That being said, there is no one reason why the hobby has taken the world by storm. Instead, there are several reasons why scrap booking is so popular.

~It's Fun.

Simply put, scrapbooking is fun to do.To create a scrapbook, you will search through pictures, cards, and letters, and items that are normally stored away for safekeeping. You can search through items from your childhood, and through your adult life and piece your favorite moments together to create a memoir. Sifting through your old keepsakes will make you laugh, smile, and even cry because they invoke the feelings that were experienced during those times.

~It's Easy.

Anyone can do it, no matter the age or the gender, and no matter the talent. When I say that scrap booking is easy, I am not declaring that it is a quick hobby. It is a bit time-consuming, but there aren't any 'rules' to follow. You can do whatever you want, because it is closer to an art than it is a hobby. You can create a scrapbook page that is representative of whatever you want it to be. Even if you make a mistake, it can be easily remedied, or made to look as if it was an intentional piece of art. In fact, you may also earn compliments from your scrapbooking skills.

~It's Nostalgic.

Scrapbooking not only preserves your memories, it displays them! A scrapbook can become a centerpiece when hosting a get together with friends and family, because everyone can thumb through it. The photos and mementos are there for all to see and usually take little explanation if there are small notes, descriptions or captions attached. It's great for family members that are seldom visited, as they can behold it at their leisure and recall their friends and family from afar. This is better than a regular photo album, because they can be unique and interesting while at the same time telling a story.

~They make great gifts.
