If you have never been to a scrapbooking crop, you are missing out. A crop allows you to get together and have fun with friends and family along with working on your scrapbooks. If you are in charge of setting up a crop, the following advice will help walk you through with ease.
If this is your first crop the first thing you will want to do is tell everyone about it. You need to wait. The first step you should take is finding a location. This size of the space will dictate how many people you can invite. Each person needs enough space to spread out his or her supplies and still have plenty of room to work on their pages. When looking for a space, always make sure the necessities are provided if you do not have them to bring yourself. You will need tables, chairs and extension cords. If you are supplying food, make sure it had a kitchen area. Once you have found your space, then you can start your invitation list.
The next thing you will need to do is decide on the details of your crop. Pick a date and set a time. It is best to have a starting and ending time or you may be pushing people out the door at midnight. Decide on price for your crop. If you are renting a space to use for the day or supplying a meal, you will definitely want to recoup some of your costs by charging admission to your crop. Keep the cost fairly low and many people are happy to pay the price for the ability to enjoy themselves and get some work done. Many crops use a theme. If you are a consultant for a scrapbooking company there may be new products you want to show off. Incorporate these into your theme and set up some demonstrations throughout the day. Crops can be great place to make some sales.
Now it is time to get those invitations out. Try making your invitations from some of your scrapbooking supplies. This will not only show off some of your products, but will also give your guests some great ideas that they can use as well. Make sure you include all crop details on your invitations. Let your guests know what's on the menu, if you plan on giving gifts or doing demonstrations. It is always nice to know what is planned for the day.
As the day approaches and you are setting up for your crop, a few things to keep in mind. Always have things ready before your guests arrive. Set up enough tables and chairs for every guest you have invited. Have all of your products out on display and any workstations set up and ready to go. As your guests begin to arrive show them around and let them get settled. Once everyone is there make sure you go through a quick rundown of the day and then let everyone get to work.
A scrapbooking crop can be a lot of work to set up. As long as you know the basics and stick to them, you are sure to have a fun and successful crop.
