Jealousy is very much a strong emotion. This is an extremely strong emotion in which that it could consume a person. Any one of us is not immune to feeling jealousy. If you are "immune," perhaps you are incapable of feeling at all and/or you are simply just kidding yourself. In regards to a relationship, jealousy is a powerful emotion. If not kept in check, jealousy can become a very dangerous emotion. Many people have done many stupid things out of jealousy.

What is jealousy: It is defined as an emotion of negative thoughts when it comes to fear, anxiety, and insecurity in regards to losing something.

How does this apply to a relationship? It is a common and familiar emotion in human relationships let alone romantic relationships. There is the fear of losing the partner you love to somebody else. Jealousy does not discriminate against race, ethnicity, skin color, religious creed, sexual preference, and so forth.

If you are capable of feeling emotion, you are capable of feeling jealousy. In that respect, you are capable of being jealous. However, jealousy is not all that bad an emotion as long as you keep it under control. That is where the internal battle begins. You have to fight the jealousy to keep it from consuming you.

Jealousy is a perfectly healthy emotion in moderation. It reminds me of one of the "Rules of Love" by Andreas Capellanus. This one rule says: "A man who feels no jealousy is incapable of loving."

That does hold true. However, one could take love to the extreme. That is where jealously tends to consume someone. Again, people tend to get jealous because they are insecure with themselves.

Here is an example:

Say that you are a guy and you are dating this girl you like a whole lot. Perhaps your feelings for the girl are strong. The two of you decide to head out somewhere to see a show or go to a party with friends.

Say that you meet a person at a party that may have a more glamorous/exciting job let alone a job with more pay. Your girlfriend could be fascinated with him. At the same time, you are feeling jealous because you may not be making as much money or have such an exciting job. In that respect, it is a natural thing to feel.

How about seeing a friend's band perform at a party or a performance lot? Say that your girlfriend's attention is grabbed by the band's musical skills while you have no musical skill at all. Chances are you are probably going to feel jealous. There
