Poetry: Reflections on success, struggle, and happiness

my passion

when I began to cry,

as my passion started to die

what was I supposed to do?

was I supposed to watch it fade away?

or find a way to make it stay?

because my passion was the one thing I had to pursue.

it was dormant in my mind

for the longest time I find.

now I have found emerging in me,

the person that I was always meant to be.

I found that as my heart began to break

with the dignity that hard times seems to take

that love and time are heating wounds of pain,

so my passion can thrive inside me once again.

I know that it was never lost

and hope and faith have paid the cost.

so now my passion can shine through,

and give me the strength for what I need to do.

when I lift my head my head and open my eyes,

I can see the truth as the fear dies.

what am I supposed to do?

do I wait for a signal or a sign?

or take a chance and go for what is mine?

because my passion is the one thing I will always pursue.
