the lights glare in my eyes
a window to another world
the screams and shouts i cry
could not change the verdict
.
the car window bursts in glass
as i replay it in my mind
shaking violently at the thought of the past
.
the blood that sept through the cold hard leather
as the blaring red lights came into view
lightheaded soft like a newly shedded feather
straps to contain me
.
realization hits my heart
as they pull the covers over your face
it was much to soon to have to part
but i keppt my emotions at bay
.
three days later im away from the doctors
but you'll be there forever
confused, like a innocent daughter
.
it's been six years
and i still don't know what to say
i go to your grave every day
and put flowers by your stone
.
why didn't it happen to me?
it was my fault somehow
like a wrong turn of destiny
it should have me under the ground
.
confused, i don't know where to turn
trying to escape, find a lesson to learn
it's taken six years dear
and my eyes have finally stopped brimming with tears
.
i understand.
it was all part of your plan.

Reach out in return
A heart without a beat
