How to write an article that is read by thousands

Any text published online can be found and read by any number of people. An online article has the potential be read by millions of Internet users, so it is quite realistic to expect quality web content to be read by thousands.

If you want to earn advertising income from page views you will earn more money from an article that provides popular tips, or a helpful "How To" guide that will be read many times.

If you write about recent news or political issues, your article may be widely read because it is highly topical, very entertaining, or somewhat controversial, but it could become outdated in a short time.

An article will be of no use to anyone if it cannot be found and accessed easily online. Whether you write an article for a blog, an article directory or a web page, you need to understand a little about SEO and search engine page ranking. You should also know how to promote your writing.

[1] Write an article with good search engine optimization

You can write a good SEO article when you understand how Internet searches work, and the way people seek information online.

If you search for a particular article, or a topic you have written about, you will realize that search results do not always bring up the top article. Yours may be the best one written on that topic, but another article may appear higher in search results because it uses and repeats more effective keywords.

An article should contain some of the words used in the title. Exactly the same words should appear in the opening paragraph, within the body of the article, and in the tags. Keyword density is important, but too much keyword packing can harm the quality of what you write.

A free keyword suggestion tool can be useful for finding appropriate words, short phrases, and synonyms. If you select only the most popular keywords to use, your article will have a lot of competition in search results, so try to include alternative keywords relating to your article topic.

[2] Write an article for a site with a high Page Rank

Article pages that are linked from a number of high ranking sites, or that are connected with other pages within a high ranking site, will get a better ranking in search results.

If you write for a big article directory site your article will have a better chance of showing up well in search results.

If you write an article and post it on a blog that has no Google Page Rank, that article is unlikely to be prominent in search results.

[3] Link your article to get it read by thousands

Write a summary of your article and post it on your blog. Provide an extract, or show the title, with a link to the full article.

Be active in forums, at social networks, on bookmark sites too, but never use those sites only to promote your article. Write about other topics and post a variety of links.

When an article is of great interest, or of help to people, it gets shared and linked on other sites. This is of great benefit in generating more traffic , and that article will be read by a great many people.

An informative article containing effective keywords, which is posted or submitted to a quality site, linked and promoted online, will be read by thousands.
