One wouldn't have experienced the true feelings of Ghana without enjoying the proverbial hospitality and warm smiles of many Ghanaians who are always ready to guide you whenever you approach them for direction to any destination. You only have to relax and pay attention to the usually cumbersome directions to where ever you want to go. But some would not hesitate to ask you some few coins, that's just by the way, and you don't have to be put off, it is a way of striking an acquaintance with you. The street names and house numbers are not well labeled so this makes it very difficult for easy direction to any location.
The hustling and bustling of activities in the city centre of Accra are partly caused by the heavy traffic jam in the early morning and late afternoon rush hours. Most of these vehicles are smaller buses and taxi cabs which are always in a hurry to reach their destinations on time. The smaller passenger buses can be seen everywhere in the big cities, looking fairly in good conditioned while the old vehicles are mostly seen in small villages in the country side. Probably because the traffic control police unit are not very vigilant in checking these old vehicles in these villages.
In the big cities such as Accra and Kumasi, one cannot do his usual rounds without joining the mini 'trotro' buses which are very smart and can meander their way through to every corner of the city centre in search of passengers. While the long buses travel from Accra to other cities. The public railway transport which was supporting the inter city travels in the country was virtually grounded to a halt. Accra is well noted for its big and magnificent hotels. There are very good four and five star hotels such as the magnificent La-Palm Royal Hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel, Cocoanut Groove Hotel and other budget hotels in town which are relatively low and affordable. The next day you would be awakened by loud noises of these taxi cabs which are always in a rush to outwit the usual early traffic jams in the city of Accra.
The western part of Accra is a first class dual carriage road passing through Kasoa town to another old city called Cape Coast which is regarded as the tourist city of Ghana.
