Using coupons is not the only way to save money on groceries. There are other ways to save money on groceries.
The first way is to make use of free samples from http://www.startsampling.com. You can join startsampling.com, and request sample delivery to your house. You do not want to waste money buying new products (no matter how cheap it is), and discard the products when you find them too awful to swallow.
You can buy in bulk for non-perishable products when they are on sale. Do check the expiry dates. Some canned food have long expiry dates. You can buy enough for a few months, so that you can have enough to eat while waiting for the next price cut.
Another way to save money is to buy store brands. Even if the store brand may not taste as good as your favorite brand, you can save money by buying store brands occasionally. Store brands usually costs lower than the branded products.
You can order food boxes from Angel Food Ministries. The pre-packed food boxes are selling at way below the market price. You can order from Angel Food Ministries, and save on food.
Make sure you use up all the food that you buy. Do not let any tinned food expire. You are only wasting money when you cannot finish all the food in your house. Do clean the fridge regularly. Find out what kind of frozen food is still hidden in the deep corners of the fridge. Cook them as soon as you can.
Do not buy any vegetables and fruits that you have no desire to eat, even if you know they are the healthier choices. Chances are you will not eat the food that you do not like at all. You will only wait for them to rot, so that you can throw them out.
If you buy tins and tins of canned food, please do not hide them in some deep in the storage abyss and forget them. Put them in places that are visible to you, so that you do not forget their existence.
How many times have you bought some canned food and forgotten them forever? Are you waiting for the next generation to play hide-and-seek, and dig out the canned food that has expired twenty years ago?
You want to save money on groceries. That means you do not waste more money in buying the groceries at full price, if you can buy them at half price. For food items like bread and cereals, if your favorite brand is not on sale, but another brand is on sale, you can buy the brand that is on sale.
Do buy local fruits, instead of imported fruits. Imported fruits are harvested early, and travel a long way to reach the supermarket near your house. You can buy the local fruits from the farmer's markets.
Do make it a habit to check your inventory before going to the supermarket. Check how many vegetables and fruits are still in the fridge. Check how many tins of food you have. Know exactly what you want to buy before you step out of your house.
