Simple makeup tips for busy women

For many women, there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a busy career woman, you want to look good all day but some days there just isn't time. There is time, but you need to know what is really necessary to look and feel your best.

First things first. You need to start with clean skin. Using a facial cleanser specifically aimed for your type of skin can easily be done at the end of your shower. There are many different brands on the market that target problems such as clogged pores or dryness and are geared towards all age groups. Even if you shower at night, you still need to cleanse your skin in the morning. Use a moisturizer also to keep skin protected. In the morning cleanse your face and apply moisturizer. If you prefer foundation there are some new products that combine moisturizers and sunblock with the foundation. Another choice is mineral makeup. A good mineral makeup will last the entire day and will feel light on your skin but will give you a healthy glow. It takes as long to apply mineral makeup as it does to brush your teeth. Mineral makeup can give you even tone all over your face and add highlights with bronzer or blush. Using a bronzer or blush can also help to bring out your eyes.

The key to looking like you bothered to put on makeup without spending a lot of time doing it is remembering to focus on what you want to accomplish. You know that it is best to start with clean, moisturized skin, that is just doing maintenance like washing your body. The next thing to use is a quick and easy foundation to not only give your skin protection against the sun which causes premature aging, but to liven up a dull skin tone or make your skin color more even. Next you want to focus on bringing out your eyes and lips. You don't need to put on a ton of eye makeup on in order to do this. Less can be more.

Add some mascara to open up your eyes. Consider a longer-wearing waterproof mascara. Mascara that is waterproof can still be easily removed at night. Purchase eye makeup remover cloths that you just wipe and dispose of. An eyeliner to help open up the eyes is another good way to look made-up. There are so many options. Forget about the liquid eyeliners of old that took forever to set. If you are not real experienced with doing this, using a fatter eye crayon to line your eyelid along your lash-line can be done quickly and easily. Even the make-up challenged will find that this is easy and it can make a huge difference in how your eyes look.

Lastly, don't forget your lips. Once again there are so many options available. Many kinds of lip tints are available that are long lasting but do not feel heavy on your lips. They really add color but still allow you to drink your morning coffee without leaving lip prints on your cup. Don't be afraid to experiment with different kinds of lip colors. Roll-on applicators or sponge-tips are easy to apply.

You can feel good about yourself without spending an hour to get ready. Be organized with your makeup and have it ready to go. Once you get a routine down you can probably get your makeup applied in under fifteen minutes. Buy the right products and you will look good all day long.
