When we are considering whether there are any real online jobs out there, we first of all have to define what we mean by an, "Online job." Do we mean a job in the sense that we are paid a fixed salary or wage every month or week or do we simply mean a fairly reliable method of making money online?
If we consider the first instance, the one where we are paid a fixed wage or salary, I have to state that my extensive investigations over a period of time have failed to turn up such an opportunity. I have been referred to many sites which appear to offer this opportunity, only to find that they are almost exclusively looking for an, "Investment," by the, "Employee," in order to get started in the business. This should always start alarm bells ringing. Any company which looks for us to make a payment in order to have the privilege of, "Working," with them and, "Earning," through them is one which I have found should be given a very wide berth indeed. Why would a reputable company wish to levy such a charge?
If - on the other hand - we are considering whether there are any truly reliable ways in which to earn money on a, "Pay as you go," basis online, the good news is that there are several. The bad news in this respect is that without an unbelievable amount of good luck, the money can not be made without investing a great deal of time and effort in the process of doing so.
Most of us who use the Internet regularly will have heard of the, "Super Bloggers." These are people who make vast amounts of money from such as Google AdSense and the sale of affiliate products on their highly successful blogs. What they have essentially done is identified a very popular and specific online niche, started a blog on the subject which they post to extremely frequently with fresh, quality content and begun selling products targeted at the site visitors they are likely to attract. The earnings potential in this market is immense but finding such a niche and determining how to fully exploit it is far from being easy.
There are a number of Web 2.0 hosting sites who make the process of blogging a little easier. These companies, such as Hub Pages and Squidoo, technically afford the online user the option of creating what may be described as a cross between blogs and Websites. These mini pages allow the user to create content on their subject, sell affiliate products and - in the case of Hub Pages - include their own Google AdSense ID in their account as well.
The most reliable form of making money online, however, will be to write such as article for sites which make payments for same. There are a great many of these sites, one of which is Helium, the site upon which you are reading this article. These sites pay in a variety of different ways but what those online users outside of the United States should be wary of is that a great many of them will not pay the top rate - if anything at all - to users who do not reside in the United States. Some of these sites are less than forthcoming with this information until the writer wonders why they have not been paid out for their efforts!
The bottom line regarding online jobs is that for every genuine opportunity, there will be at least a thousand which are not. It means that the individual looking for these opportunities has to comb through the small print of any site they intend registering with and ensure that they never pay money up-front to join. This latter point is something which will never be required of them with any reputable site or company.
