Our Love Grows Dim
His mind didn't stretch very far out
Into the wide world, but I did not notice
When we were younger.
The streetlight shone through
Our bedroom window, broken shards of light
Upon his face as he lay sleeping.
The golden glow, a reminder of
A once warm heart, now cold.
The black night all around me
Was stuffed with dread something
That never happened
When we were younger.
Dreams that walked off into the night
Like diamonds that no longer sparkle.
