Tip #1.) Install a portable fire extinguisher, fire/smoke alarms and a deadbolt to your front and back door home entrances. These devices can protect and possibly even save your family from harm from a fire or a home robbery. These devices can even earn you a discount on your insurance premiums.
Tip #2.) You may want to consider a monitored home security system that protects your home and family against fire and home invasion and reports to a central station that will call the right authorities in case of a break in or a home fire. This kind of home security system will earn you a discount on your home owners insurance.
Tip #3.) Keep your furnace and central air unit working like clockwork by having your ductwork and furnace cleaned and oiled every season. Natural gas furnaces can have a minor crack and leak dangerous gases into your home and you may not even know it. Theses gases can be life threatening.
