Currently, the Republican Party is looking for new ways to connect with the younger generations of America. They seem to have lost touch with people who are not white, male, and wealthy, and right now there seem to be more people who do not fit that description than ever before. They are looking for a way to give themselves a complete makeover, and there is no better way to do that than to get someone out there on the front lines to speak for them, than a woman. Women are making up a large part of the workforce and they are the main decision makers in more than half of America's households. Even men are beginning to appreciate the opinions and determination of women and all that they have accomplished. Women are proving to be the ultimate multi- taskers and organization masters.

With that being said, it seems appropriate that the new face of the Republican party will be Sarah Palin. She has a fresh face that gives a sense of youth to the party that has been lacking in recent years, and she also has the girl next door look that seems to appeal to so many people. Her issues with her family remind everyone that she is human and she deals with the same things within her family that many other people do. Her teenage daughter becoming pregnant not only reminds people that teenage pregnancy is not only a problem that is experienced by inner city poor people, anyone can become pregnant as a teenager if they are not cautious and take the appropriate steps to prevent it from happening.

In recent years, the Republican party has become somewhat unpopular with the American people, especially with the actions taken by our previous president to ruin our public image with the rest of the world. Many people have a general contempt for Republicans and feel that they are out of touch with everyday, middle class people. With younger people coming out to the polls to cast their vote for their favorite candidate and the candidate that they think will make the most difference, the Republicans getting a younger and non-white non-male would help their popularity. Getting popular with the voters will help them to win the next presidential election, as well as other senate and congress seats in the elections.

As a democrat, there is really no way that they can get someone to speak for them that would change my mind, but I understand their need to try to recruit new people to join their party. There are a lot of undecided voters out there and it would be unwise for them not to try to get some of them to join the Republican party. However, for those who have become angry and disconnected with both political parties, getting a young woman to be the new face of their party is a good marketing strategy.
