If you earned minimum wage by flipping burgers would you listen to a millionaire who stated or implied that you and people like you were lazy and stupid?
Talk show hosts like Limbaugh, Beck and O'Reilly make their money via bombast and verbal bullying. Their talent runs toward a certain kind of verbal diarrhea or audio auto-eroticism. They love the sound of their own voices and they genuinely believe that they invented everything but the Internet. It is hard to imagine any intelligent human being listening to one these three millionaires when they say we have lost our work ethic when all these jokers do blow hot air for a living. Talk show hosts are privileged and pampered A-holes who have the same high opinion of themselves that professional athletes do but at least athletes sweat for a living.
Given the drug problems that both Limbaugh and Beck have had they also lack moral authority when they lecture the nation's youth on morality, perseverance, and respect for the rule of law.
At best, what all conservative talk show hosts do is run a telethon for millionaires. They have basically convinced about 20 million or so brain dead sheeple that what makes American great is that a handful of conservative talk show hosts have made themselves millionaires and what threatens American the most is that these millionaires might have to pay more taxes on the money they made from talking nonsense.
Since most young people voted for or at lest supported Obama during the last election it is clear that whatever Ku Klux Klan Wizard or Neo Nazi Limbaugh, Beck, and O'Reilly backed was never a viable candidate for the under 30 vote. Conservative talk radio might as well have been Aryan Nation radio as far as the youth of America are concerned. According to the London Daily Mail on-line, 66% of people under 30 voted for Obama.
The liberals both in and out of congress are promising the populace that they will give them everything from free health care to a free education. Furthermore they are stating or implying that the rich will pay for all of it. Also there is general agreement amongst the governing elite to support alternative lifestyles where they can get way with doing so and to soft peddle any opposition to things like abortion on demand and gay marriage in the least offensive way. Liberals generally view government as a permissive mother-the nanny state.
Conservatives on the other hand represent the repressive father who is all about rules and punishment. It is not rational to believe that rebellious youths will flock to the most visible representatives of the daddy state, talk show hosts like Limbaugh, Beck and O'Reilly.
With any luck the Tea Parties will rise up and give these blowhards a good spanking!
