Libertarians: Why the future looks bright for this growing political party

In the past, the Republicans and the Democrats, used to repress the Libertarian Party with ballot access laws that were discriminatory. The Two Headed Party system called Republicans and Democrats, would use such a system in order to maintain power. They went as far as to demoralize the voters into saying that a vote for the Libertarians, as well as other parties, is a wasted vote.

Bob Dylan once sang the phrase: "The Times They Are A Changing" and it appears that this is eventually happening to the United States of America. The people have been witness to the fact that the Two Headed Party System called the Republicans and Democrats are one and the same. They only exist to obtain and remain in power as well as increase the presence of a government that has grown too big for itself.

The people of America are tired of the lies, fiscal irresponsablity and endless wars by the Two Headed Party System. They are tired of the fact that both parties are taking the country towards a police state. They want real change instead of one that has left the members of the Two Headed Party System richer and the rest below the poverty line. The people want a change based on term limits, less government, fiscal responsibility and acceptance of people for who and what they are. The people want a free trade that is free instead of government and conglomerate run.

The Libertarian Party, is the only party that believes the American Traditions, as founded by the fathers of modern libertarian ideals such as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. David Border of the Washington Post wrote the following in the year 1995: "The distinguishing characteristics of these potential independent voters aside from their disillusionment with Washington politicians of both parties is their Libertarian streak. They are skeptical of the Democrats because they identify them with big government. They are wary of the Republicans because of the growing influence within the GOP of the religious right".

While there is agreement in the assessment put forth by David Broder, the reality is that the people of the United States of America, do not see any difference between the Republicans and Democrats. They tend to look at the Republicans and Democrats as just self serving politicians with an authoritarian bent.

Who could forget in Ohio during the year 2004, when both parties nullified the petition of the Libertarian Party to have Michael Badnarik placed on the Presidential Ballot? It was an outrage committed by those who preach democracy to the world but never practiced it at home.

The threat to arrest Libertarians for disturbing the peace during elections when they were in the act of peaceful assembly, further eroded the powers of the Two Headed Political Party from Washington DC. An another example of how the Libertarians are growing with a bright future is in Lee County Florida.

Lee County Florida elected Libertarians into their government and in the end eliminated a wasteful project in spite of threats by the people from the two party system. This has galvanized voters into looking at the party as another alternative. It may not happen overnight but the Libertarian Revolution, which is a peaceful one, is coming to a neighborhood near you.
