Poetry: Foolish desire

by Ruby Ernica Samy

Created on: June 08, 2009

It was a bright sunny day and I saw you reading in your car,

You were so engrossed that you hardly knew that I was admiring you from far.

I looked at you continuously and realized that you are the one for whom I was waiting for long,

It was love at first sight and I almost forgot the sense of what is right and what is wrong.

I could not concentrate on my job anymore,

Was just watching from far and wondering how long you will ignore.

Your smile was so beautiful that lit up your face,

And I knew in my heart that you are the one I wanted to embrace.

At last you saw me from far and I just walked to you to ask for an address,

Your voice was so sweet when you said that you were not clear but made a guess .

And we started to talk and I was happy from the bottom of my heart,

That very moment your friend called you and that was the time to part.

And there I stood all alone,

Thinking about you when you had gone.

Now I realise what a fool I had been,

My desire was full of lust and I committed a foolish sin.
