They say that experience is the best teacher. Unfortunately, that saying usually entails that you're going to be learning from a bad experience. But that is so true in many ways. Driving, for example is required to have tons of road experience, because people don't follow the rule book of driving. When you're out on the road, it's up to you to make the best judgement call. As my father has always said, it's no use being dead right. Now in the case of Ebay, I would say that you're going to have at least one bad experience no matter what.
One of the worst things about ebay is they allow just about anything to be sold on the website. They will take down ridiculous stuff like humans or brothers for sale, but a lot of stuff is sold. When you are interested in buying something, it always pays to read the description of the item. Don't go by the headline display. In my friend's case, Ihe ended up paying for a Playstation Portable system for a sum of $50. The headline said it was a PSP and he was going crazy trying to get one for a rather cheap price. Unfortunately, after he looked at the description, he found out that the system was broken and that he was only being sent the device. The seller was not sending the battery, battery cover, or the ac adapter. It was to be used for scrapped parts. Usually sellers will write their headline to say that they're selling a broken Psp for parts, but they don't have to if they don't want. As long as their description says that their selling broken Psp for parts, you can't do anything. it's his fault that he didn't read the description, so now he has a Psp that he can't do anything because the replacement parts would cost as much as a new one. The only thing he can do is hope to cut his losses less by selling it back on Ebay.
Another thing to remember is the old adage: if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. In the case of the Psp, although some were being sold at a price of $60, you have to look at other costs. In this case, the notorious one is the shipping costs and insurance. I was curious to wonder why no one was bidding on a Psp that was being sold for $60 and ending within 6 hours. Then I looked at the shipping costs and found that the winner would have to pay whatever they bid and a $20 shipping cost. The shipping was said to be an overnight one. As far as I know, the seller has the power to determine the method of shipping, so you would be forced to pay $20 for an overnight delivery even though you know
