My mind said no, my heart said yes,
Now my life is such a mess.
I gave my heart, you gave me hell,
I bought the lies, you chose to sell.
Now I know that love is blind,
Life is often so unkind.
If only I had used my head,
I never would have shared my bed.
Holding you, I sought romance,
I never really stood a chance.
I gave my heart, I gave my all,
I never braced, before the fall.
You filled my heart with so much joy,
I couldn't see, I was your toy.

I often think, "who had it worst?"
You built me up to break me down,
You laughed at me, I was your clown.
I never should have danced this dance,
I never really had a chance.

Perhaps it was our fate from the start.
One day we would be destined to part.
