The Libertarian party is the third largest political party in the country and it was established as an alternative to the other two political parties. They have their own views which focus on the American people, as unique individuals who, should be treated as such and allowed to enjoy the freedoms that this country was founded on. They believe in a small, intrusive government who lets citizens choose what they want to do with their lives and go after the American dream, whatever that may mean for them.
Libertarians believe that people should live the way that they want to, as long as they are not harming others or the environment around them. They also believe that everyone should take care of themselves and be as successful as they want to, without being taxed to death because they worked hard to be a successful person. Everyone who is a good person morally, should be able to believe the way that they want to and live the way that they want to, without the interference of the government to tell them how they should live. The Libertarian party believes that the government should only get involved in people's lives, to protect them from fraud and being harmed by others or war.
As greed takes over the government, as time goes by, the libertarian party will become a breath of fresh air to more people. They let people live the way that they want and they do not agree with company bailouts that are paid for by the taxpayers. A popular way of looking at the bailouts is to give the thief the keys to the store. The companies that failed were not managed properly and they should have to pay for their mistakes. In terms of the financial institutions that received money from the bailout, they were going under but there were many in the industry that were doing fine and they did not need the money and therefore did not receive it. Although the banks that used the money would have went under, many smaller, better managed banks would have taken over to serve the American public in the appropriate ways.
As long as the government continues to make bad decisions that will affect the average person, even though they had nothing to do with the events that led up to the bad decisions, more people will become aggravated and move to the libertarian party. As long as people are unhappy with the way that the country is being managed and they feel like the government does not listen to them, there will be a place for them in the libertarian party.
