many other income generation alternatives would not have been possible without the Internet. Residual incomes from these alternatives have made it possible for stay-at-home moms to continue staying home, and many others to gain additional income, especially in today's economic climate.
SHOPPING FROM THE COMFORT OF HOME
Although nothing can replace the feeling of live shopping, the Internet provides shoppers a great shopping outlet with no geographical boundaries (distance is not a problem) and no temporal limits (no hours of operation). On the Internet, all stores are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Because of the Internet, you can shop anywhere, any time, and items are delivered to your door. For shoppers, this is heaven!
GARAGE SALE 7 DAYS A WEEK
Before the Internet, most people who had surplus items would either sell those items on a local garage sale, donate them to the Salvation Army, or just trash them. Since the emergence of eBay, and more recently Craig's List, on the Internet, all that has changed. People now have garage sales open to the entire globe. The Internet has proven the saying that someone else's trash is another's treasure. Day after day, people searching for unique items can now find them through the online garage sales made possible by the Internet. These garage sales aren't limited to Saturdays and Sundays; on the Internet, they are going on 7 days a week.
SUMMARY
The Internet has definitely made significant contributions to the improvement of people's lives. Through the Internet people can find information they would otherwise not have access to, work from home, communicate with family and others, express their ideas and creativity, find more sources of entertainment, generate income, shop, and sell.
Today, it is hard to imagine what life would be without the benefits the Internet.
