Twitter is fast becoming the best way to connect in the social media world, so it's no doubt that there are many ways to make money with Twitter. From promoting you business to showing off your latest blog post, Twitter is an effective communication tool if it is used properly.

Every little bit helps, so why not make money online using Twitter to promote your Helium articles? If you are not already on Twitter, then it is easy to sign up. Here are some tips on how

get started on Twitter, if you haven't yet. Then I will describe how to make money online using Twitter to promote your Helium articles.

First, sign up for a Twitter account if you do not have one already. You will need to choose a user name and upload an icon. Once you are set up on Twitter, start following people and returning the follows of other who interest you. Many Helium members have Twitter accounts so list yours on your profile page so you can connect to others here on Helium.

Now you are ready to start tweeting out a link to your latest Helium article. Keep in mind it is NOT good Twitter etiquette to just tweet out links. Make conversation with other Twitter members or you will be considered a spammer who is there only for self-promotion.
When you send out a link to your Helium article via Twitter, you will need to shorten the URL (article 'address' on the internet)of your article because you can only use 140 characters each time you send a tweet on Twitter.

This is how you can earn extra money! To shorten your link, you can go to one of many sites that shorten your URL for no charge. One of these sites, Tweetbucks, actually pays you for each click that is made on your Tweet using the shortened URL. You won't become a millionaire, but every little bit helps these days so why not make a little extra while you promote your Helium articles? You can sign up in less than a minute with your email address, Twitter user name and PayPal account information.

Once your account is set up, simply paste the URL of your Helium article into the box provided. Highlight the URL of your article, right click on your mouse and copy. Paste the URL into the box, as shown, on the URL shortening site. Click on "shorten" and you will now have your shortened URL!

Take this shortened URL and copy it. Paste it into your Tweet with a few words about your article. Sound FRIENDLY not spammy! Press send and your tweet is sent. Anyone who clicks on the URL to your article will be sent directly to your Helium article. At the top, there will be a small ad banner (That's how the company makes money and you get your pay-per-click revenue). Make sure you have your followers Re-Tweet (RT) out your link so you can get as many clicks on your great article as possible. You'll also get credits for the clicks on your shortened URL. It is like earning twice!

You can check your stats right on the Tweetbucks site and see how many clicks were made and what you were paid. You are given a $5 starting bonus right away! Payment is made monthly via Paypal once your account reaches $25.

Besides using a shortened URL to Tweet out your articles, you can tweet out any of the hundreds of businesses that are partners with the Tweet Bucks group and get paid per click. If someone purchases on that site, such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, BestBuy and more. So, if you just bought a book and love it, get the URL from Amazon, shorten it and Tweet away! You will make money tweeting and more if someone buys that product. Yes, it works.

In this economy, we can't knock pennies that add up quickly. If you take the time to learn the steps here and become a good "Tweeter", then you will add to your earnings nicely!
