How to Continue Your Childs Education through the Summer Months

The Key is to make learning Fun! You would be surprised how fast children learn when they are having a great time. Involving their friends can also be an incentive. Make it a family affair!

Take them to the bank and start a saving account's for them. Each week they can add their weekly wages from chores into their accounts. Your wonderful children will want to get their chores done without having you yell. In time, you can add a few dollars to their accounts for an amazing job well done.

Plan a garage sale and have the kids take care of their own table with toys and clothes they no longer need. The money they earn can also go into their savings account. Get some play money and pretend you are a toy store, and take turns working the register.

Make traveling games while on the road, even from your hometown. Use landmarks, streets, and schools, etc. The kids have to cross them off when they see it. Have them read license plates, and see who drove from the longest distant. You can always play the I SPY Game, having them guess what you are thinking by the color you say.

Ask them write a report about a interest they have or a place you are visiting and explore the landmarks they wrote about. After the report, you can make their wish come true, if it is not too impossible. You can buy Educational books at Wal-Mart or other stores, in spelling, math, and reading to prepare them for the coming year.

You can give them a hard word, and have them use that word throughout the day in different sentences. By the end of the day, they will know a new word. Play hangman as a family, or make up some silly songs with hard words in it, and sing along with the kids.

Let the kids Tie Dye and design their own t-shirts, and choose the colors. It might get messy; however, it would be well worth it. It is great way to share something that you have created. This could make a good project for them, in learning how to read directions, and then following them out to make their masterpiece.

Let them cook a meal or a dessert with supervision. Be the fly on the wall, this is a great way to see how well they follow directions. Read a book and have each member of the family read one page until the story is over.

Keep some science projects and make it a family venture. Have family fire drills and time it, and see how fast they can get the job done. Explore the library and check out books or movies. Teach them how to use the catalog to find books.

Include Sports, Music and Crafts it's so important.
