Poetry: Questions

by Mary Costigan

Created on: June 07, 2009

I don't understand, I can't comprehend

Why do bad things have to happen?

Heart attacks, cancer, when will it end?

Loss of a pet, loss of a friend

Car accidents, strokes, unexpected

Nursing homes, hospitals, hospice care

Who ever said life would be fair?

Plane crashes, bombings, robberies

Newspapers reporting gruesome stories

Just when I think I can't take anymore

Another brave soldier killed at war

Compassionate,caring, I've always been

What kind of world do I live in?

Kidnappings, murders, and child abuse

Train wrecks, swine flu, and drug overdose

How many more people have to die?

I just want to know why~
