My love for Helium

With Helium, writers are in luck. This is the information age, and Helium's stock-in-trade is information. In the history of the world there has never been an easier way to publish your work than right now.

Helium keeps all the work you've written for posterity. All your inspirations, your well-done research, all of it. And if you do your best there's a chance it will be rated highly against other writers. In that way it's kind of cutthroat. Would it be any fun if it weren't?

Another thing I like is the fact that you can treat Helium like a business. I consider myself self-employed, all because of Helium. Depending on the amount of work you're willing to put in, you can earn a good deal from this site.

Online writing sites are spreading like crabgrass since the invention of the Internet.

There has never been a better time in the history of America to be a writer. But people don't go from aspiring novelist to Helium addict overnight.

The act of writing fiction has occupied the better part of my life. Writing novels was my ticket to fame and riches. I soon learned how hard it is, especially trying to juggle the demands of work and family. Writers like Stephen King are a dime a dozen.

Writing on Helium gets you instant feedback on the quality of your work.

Say you're writing that novel. The writing's going badly. It's time for another cup of coffee. Standing in the kitchen next to the coffee machine, you don't know how big a load of crap you've just written, or if you've chosen the right plot turn out of a deck of hundreds.

Let's face it-we all want to be compensated for our hard work. There is a much faster ratio of work to reward on Helium. If you were an aspiring fiction writer like me, you eventually learn to let the dream die a little. That is not to say I will not tackle the medium again sometime. But it's going to be awhile. I've got a good thing going on here at Helium. In fact, I'm discovering that maybe this is the type of writing I'm best at anyway.

There are other rewards. Rewards that transcend the possibilities of most other writing websites. Where else can you have someone send you an email saying your writing moved them profoundly? Mental prisoners locked in the dankest cell may read your work and realize their marriage isn't that bad, their situation isn't so bleak, their predicament could be a lot worse. People from all walks of life and all over the world are reading your writing. And there's absolutely nothing as rewarding as seeing your article reach number one, especially when you wrote it less than twenty-four hours ago! That has happened to me.
