My Desperate Prayer
Alone in my youth, in the midst of despair,
In the darkness, I cried out my one hopeful prayer.
Oh please Lord, hear me, I'm alone and afraid,
Can you send me a mate who is loving and brave?
He doesn't have to be perfect, Lord, handsome, or rich,
But please let him love me, even when I'm a bitch.
Please send him soon Lord, as I feel incomplete,
Just send me my soul mate, who's real, no deceit.
And lo and behold, my prayer was granted,
My young knight was delivered, the seed of love planted.
I knew at the outset it was love at first sight,
My true love was here; it had to be right.
God knew my needs more than I understood,
And he sent me my mate, loving, strong and good.
We soon took for granted what was once exciting
And flirtations from others became so enticing.
God's gift of a mate was then tossed aside,
And in selfish desire, I soon took a ride.
Satan laughed at my folly in wicked glee
As I threw away the gift God had given to me.
Once more I experienced the new thrill of delight,
As I chose my adventure over what was right.
My new mate and I reached new heights and depths,
And I swore to myself I'd have no regrets.
And then he left me. . . alone and afraid,
I saw much too late the mistake I had made.
I mourned for what I had so carelessly tossed.
But it was too late to recover what I had lost.
God saw His gift suffering, sad and alone,
And in His mercy, He took him on home.
Once again I am lost in hopeless despair,
But now all alone, I have not a prayer.

Such an unassuming thing,
wanting only wings to fly.
Pablo toils all day long,
carrying his home, he often sighs.

Enthralled by clouds above

This is the tale that’s not very nice,
A warning to all thugs
Concerning teasing, bullies, louts
