Depleting ones electricity bills may make you feel as if you have to go without electricity for days, nevertheless which is not the case. 1. Insulate your home

2. Lighting
Many people are inclined to leave the light on in a room even when they leave it for a minute. That minute quite a lot in a day will help reduce your electricity bill by a landslide. When rooms are not in use, it is smart to turn of the lighting. During the day, open your curtains to let natural light stream in instead of using light bulbs to light up your home. The sunset is also beautiful to watch throughout the evening, so keep your curtains open until dark.
3. Heating
Here is a territory that it is most hard to save in; this is because one likes to feel free in their home with the heating on, warming up the whole house. Turning the heating down by 3 degrees makes a massive difference to your bills. Also, if you need to save more, wear a jumper and socks to keep your feet warm, some think that they need to on the heating because their feet are cold but wearing comfy socks may weaken that urge.
4. Appliances
An alarmingly large amount of household items are not switched of properly when not in use, these are items such as the computer (including the monitor and printer), the microwave, the washing machine, game consoles (Xbox 360 and play stations), televisions, top box and chargers. Turning of these items via the switch will help save you a lot of money.
Other items such as the tumble dryer can be saved on, they are not really needed, start air drying clothes in order to save money or chose only the items that you really need in the tumble dryer. In addition only use the washing machine that contains a full load and turn it down to 30 degrees Celsius on a quick wash which does the exactly same thing as a longer 2 hour wash.
5. Light-bulbs
Change all the bulbs in your home to energy efficient ones. Using energy efficient light-bulbs use less electricity due to new innovations and last much, much longer than the regular light bulbs, thus depleting the cost of supplying light bulbs in your home.
So saving money on your electricity bills does not have to be a loathsome task. Put some effort in and you'll remember to turn off a light as soon as you leave the room thus putting just that little bit extra back into your pocket.
