Libertarians: Why the future looks bright for this growing political party

I became a Libertarian by default. It had to happen.

Government passes laws and spends money. Unfortunately, those two actions diminish specific groups of people. Eventually and collectively, citizens and thus taxpayers bear the brunt of those decisions to pass laws and spend money. I wouldn't necessarily care if it weren't for two very ill side effects. Passing laws and over regulation diminish freedom. Spending money taken from taxpayers diminishes your personal freedom. As one of three hundred million citizens- you have very little control over that.

Government's legislative body, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, have become elite. The executive branch of government, including the Presidency have become elite. Even the judiciary branch, the Supreme and Circuit Courts, are filled with elites. In fact, the current make up of the Supreme Court bench is almost entirely made up of Harvard graduates. A scholastic monopoly or so it appears.

Thus the ruling class and the elite have ascended once again. The evidence is overwhelming and prima facia. The elites in government take care of their elite business friends. Elite business partners and elite bankers, contribute huge sums of money to politicians. Banks give millions of dollars to elites such as Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and Barack Obama. Our ex Treasury Secretary, Goldman Sachs's former CEO and elitist Hank Paulson, stood to lose hundred of millions in options at Goldman Sachs had he not been able to jam the TARP bill through Congress. Had Goldman Sachs failed, Paulson would have only been left with a personal fortune of 300 million or so. Paulson's actions are reprehensible.

Elitists all wear two labels. Democrat and Republican. They have all the money and all the power. Make no mistake about this. The elites declared war on the middle class of this country and they have won. Elite investor Warren Buffett agrees with this.

The poor and middle class have only one option and one asset. The only option is a third party. A party that wants to regain control over this Frankenstein government of ours. Jumping to and fro, from Republican to Democrat parties is simply insanity. We have been repeating this mistake for 45 years with the same results and in effect, we have created this mess. Our strength is in our size and our ability to unify.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people-no longer exists. Recovery is only possible if we unify and change the rules. It will be a slow and arduous process trying to convince people that a third party is truly our last hope. Historically, all democracies have failed when government and the elite have usurped all the wealth and freedom of their nations. That has occurred in the U.S. with the top five percent of income earners paying ninety five percent of the taxes. Like I've said, prima facia evidence.

The Libertarian party is our only hope. It combines a third party principle with the willingness to reduce government to manageable size. The Libertarian party believes in liberty and freedom for all citizens and not just the elite ones. I invite you to look at their party platform but chances are, if you are reading this, you already have. In fact, much like I did, you may have become a Libertarian without even realizing it.
