Father's Day is a Special Day for millions of Men around the world. It's nice to do something out of the ordinary on Father's Day to show your appreciation of everything he does for you. Here are some cheap and easy activities for your Dad.
- Take him to a Movie, if it is too expensive for the whole family to go, rent his favourite movie, make popcorn and have a special night in, if the rest of the family does not want to watch the film, then find somewhere quiet and let dad relax.
- Have a party for him, play party games, make or buy prizes or hold a lucky dip for the winners. You can make special crowns or party hats out of paper, including newspaper. Invite other families around to share the day with, get them to add party prizes and ideas too!
- Do something special that he likes even if its not something the whole family likes. Maybe he loves fishing; accompany him down to the ocean. If he likes seeing a car race or go carting. Either buy him a ticket to go alone on another weekend, or buy two tickets and get a family friend to accompany him.
- Get out all the family photo albums and after a special lunch look through them and get him to tell you stories about his childhood photos, he will love doing it and you will find it interesting to hear stories that you haven't heard before.
- Buy a packet cake and get an adult to help you bake a delicious cake for him. You can put jam and cream inside the cake if he likes sweet things. You can put frosting on the cake and spell out DAD using chocolate buttons or m&m's. Packet cakes are very cheap and easy to make.
- If your Dad likes driving, take a picnic or snack foods with you and get him to drive to a location that he likes. If the weather is wet you still can have fun in the car having an inside picnic. If there are young children in the car put a plastic tablecloth underneath them to catch any spillages, make sure you take wet hand towels for any emergencies.
- If Dad likes sports or wants the tv to himself, give him timeout from all the other family members to watch what he wants on a particular day. You could write him a voucher that promises to let him sit in peace when a special show is on. Everyone else in the house has to agree to keep out of his way.
There are hundreds of ideas that you can use to make your Dad's Day special. Think of all the things he likes and make a list. Then you will be able to decide what the best gift or activity is for your Special Dad.
