One thing that I could always remember was going to my grandma's house and eating her home made bread. It always smelled and tasted so good. I think that whenever someone talks about grandparents, my mind always drifts to Grandma's home made bread. Maybe it sounds strange, but whenever I think about home made bread, it is like I can smell and taste Grandma's bread all over again. My Grandma passed away many years ago, but one thing we will always remember is her home made bread. She lives on in our hearts and minds.
Grandma is the reason that when I had children I could not pass up the chance to make grandma's home made bread. She always made the bread with love, and that is what I wanted my children to know about my grandmother and myself. As time went on, my children grew up and married. Now, my grandchildren come spend the night at my home. Every time that they come over, I cannot pass up the chance to share with them about grandma and her home made bread. My heart smiles when I hear them say, Grandma, I am glad she taught you how to make bread, but I am sure your bread is the best bread.
Oh, the drifting thoughts as I remember the times she would teach me how to knead the bread with love. Grandma told me that love was the special ingredient, and it had to be mixed into the bread. She told me that one day I would be passing on to my grandchildren about how to knead the bread with love, because that was the secret to making it turn out so good. It was done with your hands and just like adding salt, the kneading with your hands was kneading the invisible ingredient of Love. Without that special Ingredient the bread would not rise to be what Grandma said was her grandma's special secret ingredient. This bread has been in the family for many years, and it should always remain an old family secret. Knead the Bread With our Family's secret ingredient. It is no wonder why every one loves Grandma's home made bread. With an ingredient like love, it is bound to be special and taste heavenly. Love is an ingredient that money can not buy and it comes from the heart. We always knew that when Grandma made her bread, it was done out of love from her heart. So it is only natural that we remember Grandma when we make our family's secret bread. She gave us something special that could be passed down from generation to generation for many years to come.
So when asked why would a person make their own bread? The answer is very plain. Grandma shared a special ingredient that no other person would know how to make it as special as she did. No one else's bread would be so memorable as to be smelled and tasted by all the family several years after she has left this earth for her other home. Every time we make it we know that grandma's hand is their with her special secret ingredient. And one day, my grandchildren will smell the same thing that previous family smelled some twenty, forty, and sixty years ago.
