A Dog's Life is Accepting
Bandit lies on the living rom rug,
accepting a tummy rub and a scrap from my table.
Muscles ripple under his stiff black fur,
accepting the touch of my hand.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes are always accepting
whatever we give them -love or abuse.
The happy pug dogs cuddling in their soft bed,
accepting the loving kindness of a rescue home,
the sad beaten collie tied to a tree,
accepting the life of misery given by some human monster.
Dogs always accept what we give them.
I accept that I must give my dog love.
