Fast food is not healthy because you are likely eating hamburgers prepared with meat of questionable quality which has too much fat. You tend to eat a lot of bread and fried potatoes, without salads and fresh fruits, which means that you get many calories, fat, salt and sugar with your meals, without vitamins.
Your appearance is very important for your emotional health, because if you are overweight you acquire a complex; you are rejected and criticized by your friends, and you are never satisfied when you look at yourself in the mirror, or when you try to buy new clothes.
However, you have to care more about getting the necessary vitamins for your body than about your shape and appearance.
Fast food is cheap and practical, but quite problematic because it contains many preservatives and hormones, not to mention artificial ingredients that enhance the flavour.
Even though some fast food restaurants offer you salads and grilled chicken, trying to provide you with a balanced menu that will not be solely full of fat without iron and vitamins, you tend to disregard these options, bewitched by tastes that attract you more.
In the end you only get the impression that your menu is not so harmful to your health, deluded by the dishes that you could order but never do, or that you order but you abandon at the table. If you want to follow a really healthy diet you cannot mix fast food with fresh ingredients, since the harmful elements are still part of your daily diet. Fast food should be your last option.
You may tend to ignore warnings concerning health problems when you think that you'll have to dedicate your time to the preparation of healthy food, and you don't want to miss the pleasure of eating what you like or be obliged to eat the healthy food that is not so appealing to you.
However, this is a matter that needs caution. Your body becomes too weak without the necessary vitamins, and your immune system is not able to combat the toxins contained in the fast food, which means that you will become too vulnerable to diseases. This is the graver problem caused by regular consumption of toxic food.
Your liver is responsible for storing vitamins, iron and sugar, which are transformed into energy for your body, and responsible for the production and removal of cholesterol. Cholesterol is a protective agent in your skin and blood that works to eliminate toxins. When your system absorbs too many toxins, your cholesterol level becomes too high, causing heart disease.
Your liver is in fact a filter that eliminates poisonous substances from your system; it removes bacteria from the bloodstream in order to combat infections when you have wounds, it helps the healing of your skin when you cut it, stopping the bleeding, and it releases a substance called bile to help you digest your food more easily, absorbing the necessary nutrients.
If the food you eat is too toxic though, your liver cannot protect you. You may even be affected by cirrhosis, a serious liver disease usually provoked by the abuse of drugs and alcohol, which lately is attacking children and teens, precisely because they eat too much fast food.
Be sensible and avoid eating it all the time! Once in a while it is not so harmful, but when consumed constantly, it becomes poison.
You can easily prepare many simple tasty dishes at home quite quickly, avoiding all the health problems provoked by inadequate nutrition, besides helping your liver carry out its important mission.
