Computers are widely used throughout the world. They are mainstays in the business world, we socialize from it, get our news from it and just plain have fun from it. There are so many uses that we get out of computers, it makes it hard to believe that there was ever a time they didn't exist. There was a time however and many people from that time don't feel the need to own one. Although there are advantages to not becoming computer literate, there are far more benefits we reap from the use of computers.

Here are some of the advantages of owning a computer:

Banking

You can check your bank accounts at all times when you own a computer and go online. Most banks have websites which allow you to do this. It makes it much easier than running to the bank or calling them. Not having to wait in line or be put on hold makes it worth owning a computer. You can also transfer funds or any of the other necessary things that we do on a daily basis.

Word Processors

Word processors are a great way to "write" down our information, write letters or any other type of writing that you need to do. They allow you to correct errors quickly and efficiently without wasting a lot of paper because of errors. You can also add pictures to your documents and then simply print it out when you are satisfied with the product you have produced.

Do you have a question that needs to be answered? If you own a computer, you can find that answer very quickly. You no longer have to go to the library or call friends and family to get the answers you want. Type in a few words to Google and it will magically bring you the answer. It doesn't matter if it is a phone number you need or if you have to prepare a thousand word essay on the history of hamburgers. If you want to know, the best chance of finding out is to own a computer.

It was never easier to choose which store to buy your products from. You can easily find out what the prices are in one store as compared to the same product in another store by simply going to the websites. No more running around to store after store looking for the best price to only realize it was in the first store you went to.
