Procrastination is a mode of behaviours which are most often noticed by the way it causes a cessation of action in a duty or task, which is pushed away to be completed at another time. It is considered by some experts a response to coping with different levels of anxiety which was brought up by the desire to overlook the task or duty in order to merge on to everyday life.
Procrastination may result in the host succumbing to many different levels of psychological and emotional stress. It may also cause guilt to arise, as the productivity in the listlessness of the wait remains nil. The mingling sensations can often cause for the length of the procrastination to become longer. This might cause emotional upheaval, or mental lapses. The host who is indulging in procrastination can become violent or submit to calling themselves dumb until their confidence hit's a low point.
While the act of procrastination an become a rather normal reaction especially for those who are confronting new tasks or duties for the very first time, it can become a deeper problems when it stops normal mental functioning. Chronic procrastination can be a reaction which causes a person a lot of mental injury. The procrastinator may even cause themselves to become so affected that they needed to be treated as having a psychological or physiological disorder.
The church can even go so far as to name procrastination a mark that a person has been effected by the devil. The host may have even been inhabited to become the devil's tool. This makes the act of procrastination a sin to be treated immediately, before a person's soul is damned to stay in the clutches of the devil. Items that can be used to treat the sin of procrastination are the holy cross, holy water, baptism, prayer, divining needles, and eternal service to the church.
However procrastination can also be the thing to urge someone into perfectionism. Perfectionism is the tendency to look upon one's one actions with so much disfavour that they propel themselves to become better then any other at the task or duty. The failing to fit into the box of excellence causes the perfectionist much mental disturbance, as the intense fear of failing haunts their mind and causes much anxiety. Those who succumb completely to perfectionism, (being afraid of falling to procrastination), often develop such intense mental disorders against failing that they become an intense workaholic. This can be just as damaging as the illness they are running from, and cause them to run themselves on full charge until they are so exhausted that they just collapse from their developed mental illness.
